  • Reducing the Medicaid Community Services Waiting Lists!
  • Livable Wages for Community Care Attendants!
  • State School System Reform!
  • Three new centers for independent living!

  • Are you offended that Texas claims sovereign immunity from the ADA? Support the ADA bill filed by Rep. Strama and Sen. Hinojosa!
rally

Monday April 6 starts with breakfast, then a bus ride/trek over to the State Capitol steps for a press conference and rally on the issues we discussed Sunday. Then is the time to put what you’ve learned into practice: visit your legislators’ offices, armed with supporting materials and your own personal stories.

CTD and BIATX are also offering over 12 CEU classes!

But don’t delay! You may book a room at the gorgeous new AT&T Conference Center for the extremely discounted rate of $85/night, but you must book it before March 23, 2009. CALL: 512-404-3600 and remember to note you’re booking under the “CTD BLOCK”.

REMEMBER to take a business card at each office you visit, to be eligible for our raffle with some fabulous gift certificates to your favorite stores. The raffle will occur during a three course luncheon back at the AT&T Conference Center. Monday’s luncheon KEYNOTE SPEAKERS: Mark Zupan, 2008 Paralympic Gold Medalist and star of the film “Murderball”.

After lunch, enjoy the rest of the afternoon touring downtown Austin - you’ve more than earned it with your morning’s “sweat advocacy” at the State Capitol!
