CTD Convention Alert April 5-6, 2009

CONTENTS:

CTD’s 2009 Convention is here. April 5 & 6, 2009

CTD’s 31st Annual Convention focuses on advocacy. “BrainStorm!” is your opportunity to join the disability community of Texas in the state’s capital, Austin. Advocacy is so important to Texans with disabilities that the morning of Monday, April 6th is dedicated to a Capitol visit! This is your time to meet with legislators from your district and discuss important disability issues. CTD ‘s legislative briefing session, held the afternoon before the capitol visit, is designed to give you advice on how to approach your representative and provide an update of 2009 legislative session hot topics. It is CTD’s goal to have all of the convention attendees visit their legislators on the capital day, Monday, April 6. To find your legislators follow this link: RAISE YOUR VOICE.

Once you find your representative, DON’T FORGET TO MAKE AN APPOITMENT ON MONDAY, APRIL 6TH.
Our convention program also includes a CEU track for professionals in the healthcare business. CEUs provide training for Service Coordinators at HMOs and many other critical job roles within the health care industry. Check the CTD website, www.cotwd.org, often for up to date information on CEUs offered during this year’s convention.

As always the CTD convention will provide wonderful networking opportunities by bringing together a cross-section of individuals, policy makers and health care organizations in one location. This year you can make a difference!
