- The Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services (DARS) is one of four new departments under the umbrella of the Health and Human Services Commission. The department was created by the 78th Legislature and comprises the programs and functions of the following legacy agencies:
- Services for Persons with Physical and Mental Disabilities
- Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired
- DARS - Office for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services
- Early Childhood Intervention (ECI)
